Works Fine, Adapter Protrudes by Anonymous, 26 October 2009, 6 out of 7 people found this review helpful The model supplied was a BB-ES51-K. These are designed for bikes running a chain-guard so assume an E-type plate will be positioned between the drive side and bottom bracket shell, offsetting the BB drive side rim 1.5-2mm. When the chain-guard plate is not present (as it isn’t on any MTB) this means the left side adapter can’t screw up flush with the BB shell. This does not affect the quality, or fitting of the unit at all. It just seems wrong when you install it, even though it’s fine. Solid unit at bargain price. great upgrade by Novice22, 1 November 2013, 4 out of 6 people found this review helpful Bought this to replace original (noisey) square taper BB on my trek. Fitted perfectly. You need to do your homework before ordering as there are various size options ( frame width at BB & overall width) my frame width is 68m & overall bracket width was 121mm. Fitting is straight forward. Note the non drive side retaining ring (black) is plastic & its threads should not be greased when fitting. the other side can be greased as normal. With the right tools this is a simple job to do. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
