Comfortable and light by Jonesy23, 30 May 2018, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Fizik make 3 designs of saddles to suit different degrees of flexibility and there is a quick test you can do to see what body type you are, that they have named – Snake, Chameleon and Bull. From their site if you have ‘Low body flexibility and high pelvic rotation whilst pedaling (bull). You need a waved saddle’ I ordered this saddle as it was a good discount as it was last year’s model. So far it seems very comfortable and I am very satisfied. Great saddle if set up correctly by Oddsox, 4 May 2018, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Saddles are very a personal thing as they are a direct interface between your anatomy and your bike. The Fizik concept is well known, however I tend to use two different saddles depending on what I’m doing. I use the standard size Arione for time trials and this saddle the Aliante for when I have a really hilly day ahead where the raised profile provides better support for the climbs when get particularly steep and enduring. As I said this isn’t how they were intended to be used. The Aliante R1 is firm yet supportive without interfering with leg movement on long rides or sportive events. A word of caution though, the composite braided saddle rails are larger in diameter so if you do consider any braided Fizik saddle ensure your seat post clamp is suitable. Also this saddle requires fine tuning as even a slight angle of tilt can make it uncomfortable, but once adjusted correctly is as a saddle should be, forgotten about on a ride. I liked the Aliante R1 so much I purchased another for my second bike. I purchased mine in the winter sales which offered better value for money. Pros: firm yet comfortable reasonable weight good quality product the plastic edge protection good value when in a sale Cons: not great value if not in a sale can be sensitive to poor set-up I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
