Works. What else can you say? by Anonymous, 9 June 2013, 15 out of 17 people found this review helpful It’s tricky writing a review of a chain-ring as they all do much the same thing. Sure, more expensive ones are lighter, and to be fair they sometimes do last longer, but in practice I don’t find there is a lot in it. These rings are heavier than higher quality ones, and a bit more flexy, but relative to the flex you get from the frame and bottom-bracket etc it’s insignificant in my opinion. But the main thing is that they do a solid job and are cheap. I can’t tell any difference in shifting between these and the more expensive rings I’ve used and if they do wear out faster there’s not a lot in it there either. When you compare the cost to me it’s a no-brainer. In you do a lot of miles and go through a lot of transmissions cheap steel rings get the job done very economically. Incidentally, if you’re planning to move up to a 48T, from say a 42 or 44T, be aware that you may have issues with your front d̩railleur and/or bottom-bracket. You often get away with an adjustment of the d̩railleur but sometimes it won’t work happily on the larger rings and the rings sit closer to the chain-stay often needing a longer bottom-bracket. by Anonymous, 9 April 2010, 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful Bought this chainring for a modification of a M411 42-32-22 to 48-32-22 (M410 derailleur), all went smooth: I’ve had no problems so far, using it primarily on tarmac. Not very usual, indeed, but good enough for my needs. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
