Excellent value by 50BPM, 5 November 2016, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I was finally forced to replace the Shimano STX on my 1994 Peugeot Aluminium 550 mountain bike. These brakes are not of the same quality as the original and slightly chunkier and heavier but function perfectly adequately once adjusted correctly. The whole assembly including blocks was cheaper than the TPR blocks alone that I have on the back but I feel confident to stop in wet or dry. I had to retain the slightly worn plastic washers (22 years old) from my old brakes to fill the gap between the forks and the calipers and I don’t understand why Shimano decided not to include these with the assembly as I didn’t really need the blocks but the washers are indispensable… Pros: cheap and effective Cons: tricky to adjust no plastic washers I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
