Beware the sizing chart! by Tele1972, 6 August 2018 Firstly- I still don’t have the shoes so am not writing a review of the shoes themselves, though on inspection they seem like excellent value and quality and I fully intend to buy another pair. In short, contact CRC before ordering to confirm the size being sent. The US sizes seem correct but the specific Riot chart is off when it comes to the EU to US size equivalents. I ordered 47 first; cycling shoes have tended to size small for me and the Russian gentleman’s review here said as such (or so Google translate told me), and 47 has been what I have always had to buy. The specific Riot sizing chart was on this time and it turns out the US and Asian (ie millimeter sizings) are accurate; the size 47 was a US 13/ 305 mm, and so a size and 10 mm too big. No prob; I ordered the 46 (US size 12 and 295mm) which should have been perfect. When they arrived however they were actually US size 11 and 290mm, so too small and not what the sizing chart said. In fact, these are the sizing of either the Vaypor or Vaypor S charts, so something funky is going on. Now I am not sure if I should get 46.5 (are they going to be Size 12 or size 12.5?) or try 46 (Size 11 or 12?) again. CRC have been helpful throughout (2-3 days for responses to emails, paying for return shipping on the order) but still haven’t been able to provide a solution to how I can verify the shoe size before having them sent to Canada, so I am still in my torn up old Giros.
