Ideal by daddyFras, 3 April 2014, 10 out of 13 people found this review helpful After running this cassette for a year trouble-free on my old bike, I had a very troubled few months with Sram on my new bike (1070 cassette, XO mech, X9 shifter). It was amazing for a couple of weeks, then the mech broke three times, the cassette continually came loose and eventually ovalised on the freehub – making the shifting terrible. The swap back to Shimano has been a welcome relief. I run this cassette (11-36) with a Zee mech and Saint shifter, and the shifting is every bit as good as the Sram set-up, but the best part is I know I can look forward to a trouble-free year. All of this change-over cost less than one XO mech. Coming from a full aluminium cassette, the steel sprockets on the outer block of this one do twang and ping more when shifting, but it shifts perfectly every time, so who cares. No point in buying XT – one extra alloy sprocket isn’t worth that much more. Unbeatable. Get it. Pros: excellent shifting cheap light Cons: a bit noisier than full-alloy I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
