Fragile in places by Anonymous, 24 April 2013, 8 out of 8 people found this review helpful Well I’ve had 2 sets of these now and although they do look the part, fit easily and adjust well the actual brackets that hold them in place are really fragile. The guards themselves flex brillianly but the brackets DON’T, they snap off. Whats worse is you can’t just buy a replacement bracket which is a con in my book. I won’t be buying these again. ok, look nice, but quality not all that by Anonymous, 11 April 2013, 10 out of 12 people found this review helpful These mudguards look pretty good (I hate mudguards on bikes – but was getting absolutely soaked on the commute) they work ok – obviously not as well as full wrap around guards – but keep the spray out your face, most of the spray off your back and some off your shoes. Easy to fit – in just minutes, and can take them off with the quick release option (although not sure how many times the rear would go on and off before breaking) HOWEVER!!! I had mine on only a few months and the metal support bracket on the front guard snapped. Meant the front guard flapped a bit, but still worked. Finally yesterday the plastic front guard had flapped its last, and snapped off. Now, bearing in mind this is on a ROAD bike – which is a Specialized Crosstrail – so it has front suspension – it does get ridden off the odd kerb and pothole / sunken drain cover -but really? fatigue failure in less than a year? – I think if these were fitted to a mountain bike they would fail much much quicker! so – overall – not bad – as ever – you get what you pay for – nice bit of plastic for å£20 odd quid – but don’t expect it to last too long I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
