JUST BUY ONE by Anonymous, 29 March 2011, 7 out of 8 people found this review helpful I bought 2: A brown, B17 Titanium – then a copper-riveted & (thinly!)-coppered, steel-railed black B17 for my 2 roadbikes. Some local cycling club members called me “baboon a*s” – but sorry guys, the joke is on you! I plastered each with ‘Proofride’, before putting onto my bikes. Both look great – esp. with the sumptous leather + those copper rivets, but I have found NO problems breaking them in, which is ongoing..’Q-u-a-l-i-t-y.’ There CAN be a problem if you like a lot of seatpost “set-back”, as some inline or USE suspension posts can’t accommodate the Brooks saddle rail design, which converge early at the front,(I had to swop one for a fixed, 25mm laid-back seatpost.) Also, forget any ‘quick-release’ seatbag attachment (the rail gap is too wide at the rear – you will need a bag which has velcro straps. However, I am findng the Brooks comfortable, breathable, (Q. Can you say that with a modern, plastic saddle?!) + you can move position about on them very smoothly. Watch when you park your bike up against a wall – brickwork will scratch the leather(and, if you value keeping onto it, remember ‘bright objects attract magpies” – but I don’t leave a good bike in mass public view anyway.) Enjoy, they’re long-lasting. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Exceptional comfort, built to last. by Anonymous, 2 February 2009, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful After being sceptical about old timers going on about how good these saddles are for many years I finally got one a couple of years back to fit to my touring bike for a 7000km trip. Contrary to popular belief the saddle was pretty comfy from day one, then it just got better. After a only a few days the saddle had softened and adapted to my “personal profile”. This is the most comfortable saddle I have used with no discomfort at all in nearly a year of day to day use. This model is very expensive but I guess the steel rail version would be just as good. It does go a bit soft in the wet but that has never been a problem. They also loose a bit of colour over time (mine is green) but that just adds to the character. I liked mine so much I just bought a Swift Titan to go on my MTB. Who can argue with 120 years of design history and genuine hand made quality craftmanship?
