Superior to the 7700 and great for the track by Crewdoglm, 29 December 2014, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful Devoted Dura-Ace users will know that the 7700 (road) bottom bracket is not only expensive and rare, but extremely delicate. It is nearly impossible to install the soft alloy cups without deforming the tool indents ever so slightly. Cross-threading is easier and the life span of the thing is not great either. The 105 BB on the other hand, has robust steel where it counts and in fact, weighs the same as the 7710 TRACK BB. I am using the 105 BB in an Italian threaded track frame. (Shimano never made the 7710 BB in anything but BSA threading. (The Ultegra BB WAS so produced but is much harder to find than the 105.) It installs easily with the Shimano internal-splined tool and has no lock-ring to adjust – same sealed-bearing design as the 7710. I’m left to wonder if the 105 BB is basically the Dura-ace track version for a lot less. Recommended. Pros: no lock ring sealed positive tool engagement durable steel almost indistinguishible from dura-ace 7710 available in bsa and italian good hand weight/bludgeon for bare-knuckle fights Cons: heavy I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Good by Buckers123, 1 June 2016, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful It works well and was relatively easy to fit however doesn’t last all that long Pros: cheap Cons: short life span I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
