Poor SRAM Shifters by Chalky, 28 July 2016, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I’m basing my review on the fact that i have had to replace a broken shofter TWICE. I guess tht’s why you are reading this because you are wondering if you should ditch the dodgy SRAM Shofter and go SHIMANO. Unfortunately for me i hate the way the SHIMANO shifters work, otherwise i’d have those. i do like the double tap feature but my word i’m paying for it. The poor linkage between shifter and housing on the shifters by SRAM is well documented and i guess that is why they keep the prices relatively high. I’ve bitten the bullit twice now but wont buy them on my next bike as they are just too unreliable. Buy this if you are looking at replacing a lone shifter but DO NOT waste your hard earned cash if you are building something up. They are just not reliable. Pros: faults well documented on forums beware Cons: poor design in the shifter linkage expensive to replace I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
They break by Mark984553, 12 April 2018 I’ve replaced six of these – two left and four right. The levers snap off. Only two were SRAM Force. The others were Rival. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
