Works for my specific purpose – not as described by Park Tools by Familyman007, 9 August 2017, 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful I was looking for help in getting a Schwalbe tubeless 28mm road tire (installed on ENVE 4.5AR wheel) off the shoulder of the inner rim where it was seated after installation and into the centre channel (so I can then remove tire). This tire / wheel combination fits tight – not able to get a tire lever under the bead, and my fingers not strong enough to move into the centre channel. This tool did the job – after some experimentation I found following worked well: ~ slightly inflate tire (to add some rigiidty to this very flexible tyre); ~ get as much of the tire between the jaws of the PTS-1 as possible (take care not to clamp the carbon rim); ~ use something convenient to rest the PTS-1 on the rim to protect it (I used a plastic tire lever), and lever the tire bead away from the outer rim enough that a slim tire lever can be worked into the small gap that opened up; ~ once you can get the tire lever in, simple to get the bead into the centre channel and thereafter all very routine) Do not think it would work as described by Park Tool – ie would not help me install a flexible road tire on a tight rim (what did help me was the ‘Kool Stop Tire Bead Jack’ tool – but I am an old man with weak hands struggling with Schwalbe 28mm tubeless on ENVE 4.5ARs, perhaps strong youngsters need no such help!), I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Doesn’t do the job by Slamdunk, 3 January 2015, 4 out of 5 people found this review helpful Expensive but I am a big fan of Park tools. It is hard to use and I ended up using plenty of soapy water to lube up the rim and beads to get the tyre to seat evenly on the rim. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
