Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
Good padding, decent stitching, anchoring points work well, not so easy to roll at the airport. by flyinglotus, 21 December 2014, 51 out of 52 people found this review helpful This is the first bike bag I have ever bought and it could not have come at a better time as my lovely Yeti got run over by the baggage kart on the airport runway. Despite being a soft bag it soaked a fair amount of damage and somehow my bike survived. The bag has survived tarmac abrasion, handling by luggage tossers at 4 major European airports and it has been flat packed to almost perfection after use. I do not have many criticisms as I have nothing else to compare it to but over all I am really happy with the purchase, however there are some issues that can leave some people disappointed. The first one is the positioning of the main carry handle. If you are packing light, and by light I mean a carbon frame and your kit not weighing more than 13kg you may not notice the digging in your palm from the plastic ridges carved in the front pulling handle, however if you are transporting a medium Yeti SB66 Aluminium frame, two changes of kit, shoes, helmet, pads and a hydration back pack which tallied up to 18kg it dragging the bag becomes a bit of a penitence. Because the bag only has two fixed wheels at the back, you have to lift and roll which is manageable if your trips do not involve flight transfers between terminals or long distance hauling from your arrival to your destination. Because the handle is towards the upper section of the front wall, If you are shorter than 170cm, you will have shrug your shoulders to get enough lift for the bag to roll properly. Also, if you are packing heavy, the plastic protection beams underneath the bag flex and curve, making you lift even higher to avoid dragging the bottom of the bag while moving. Taller people may find it easier to carry but how much you pack will have an impact too. Another issue is the stability of the bag while rolling it. I admit it may be due to poor pulling technique but the narrow width of the bag’s base, specially between the wheels does not help. Again, your only wheels are your fulcrum for lifting and dragging and your rotational axle to steer the bag. Just a couple of cm more either side in the wheel base would make the bag much more stable. The things I was really impressed with are the wheel bag distribution and the amount of wheel axle spacers, pads and protectors the bag comes with. It really does cater for pretty much every bike apart from downhill bikes that have very large wheel bases. The pad inserts work on a modular velcro and straps system. Once they are in they do not move at all. One thing to note is that unless you have used similar bags before it will take a while to figure out what pads go where and what they do. There are pads that specifically hold up and protect the BB and because there are no instructions you have to figure out how it works best for your bike. The zips on this bag are quite good too. Oversize pullers so you can unpack with mitts on if its cold or if you have sausage fingers like myself. This may not be a feature that was purposefully added to the design but the color scheme and graphics design on the outside shell has plenty of room to draw or write your Name and address with permanent marker or to place an address sticker. Finally, when you are not using the bag you can flat pack it to reduce its volume and stow it away. The soft shell collapses into the wheel base plate easily and if you do a kind of roll-up lunch bag maneuver and the use gaff tape to secure it I managed to get mine back inside the cardboard box it came in originally. Over all, if you can grab the bag on a sale with a 25% discount I think it is a decent purchase. If you are packing heavy and you have to move between terminals that are quite far apart, pad the handle with foam, a towel or something to prevent pain in your hands or save for a 4 wheel base type bag. Pros: afordable when on sale very modular decent construction Cons: unstable wheel base not suitable for short people painfull handle I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Great value for money! Why buy evoc? by Robb3456, 30 May 2014, 38 out of 52 people found this review helpful I just took delivery of this bag today and am really impressed with it! With it been significantly cheaper then the similar evoc I expected it to feel cheap. It is far from this, I am traveling to the alps with friends this year and will take great pleasure in winding up my friends who have bought the evoc and paid much much more than this bag. Great product Pros: high quality good value I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
