Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
Great modulation, I got tired of brake rub. by Gilles932, 7 June 2016, 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful I used these brakes on my SuperX during canadian winter commuting. These withstood the abuse without problems, but needed frequent disassembly, relube and bleed for the pistons to retract properly. I often swap wheels for different rad and snow conditions, and had to center the caliper most of the time from the mounting bolts. It happenned regularly that I would finish a ride with a caliper dragging, off centered because the piston on one side was stiffer than the opposite one. I liked the hydro feel and modulation, but for my application TRP mecanical are now offering me almost the same performance with a lot less hassle. They offer about the same total weight (20gr difference). I would recommend these for riders looking for ultimate braking modulation but ready to cop with brake maintenance or ride in easier environnement. Pros: very good braking feel and modulation Cons: my riding environnement is too harsh for these. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Eats through brake pads by greenmark, 17 November 2016, 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful I’m using a pair of these on my light touring set up. Braking is excellent: I just completed a 90km descent in Taiwan and modulation was excellent and no sign of brake fade. Based on my experience on that and other long descents I do not worry about brake fluid boiling. Shifting is OK, but the Sram system takes some getting used to. I sometimes mis shift because I am not always certain if I’ve clicked once or twice. My one gripe is the durability of brake pads. I’ve had to replace mine after less than 900km of riding. When abroad it’s impossible to find spare pads as most shops don’t stock them. SRAM now prohibits CRC from sending parts abroad. Hence I would recommend against SRAM for anyone planning to do touring outside their home country. Pros: modulation Cons: spares I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
