Great Crankset, but 1x has limitations by MTBMARKNZ, 18 August 2015, 19 out of 20 people found this review helpful XTR is an awesome setup. One VERY disappointing thing I discovered was that the 1x crankset is not 1x specific and the chainline of 50.4 creates a very sharp angle when in the 40T rear cog which means premature wear of both chain, cassette and chainring. The reason its like this is that the 1x is actually a 2x crankset. You need either a spacer or an aftermarket chainring, the latter being the best option. Be good to see shimano provide the correct chainline…. rather than having to use washers to get it lined up right. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
top of the range crank by Sidmouth, 27 March 2018 Went for the 9020 trail single speed crank, the 9000 crank I believe is narrower, remember the XT chainrings are not compatible, you need to order XTR chainrings Pros: light shimano 24 bbs are the best repalcing a shimano bb is cheap and simple I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
