Great value 1x gear bundle by DBZH, 21 November 2016, 11 out of 11 people found this review helpful I’m loving the concept of Shimano Zee and it’s ‘gravity orientated’ components at a great value price. First off the derailleur is superb. I have the wide range model which you will need for XC/ Enduro/ all mountain applications as it allows you to run a wide range 10speed cassette. Despite being wide range the cage is tiny. This not only looks smart on the bike but also reduces the chances of catching it on rocks/ roots etc. The clutch works great and is easy to service if needed. Alongside the Zee shifter and some fresh gear cable the indexing was almost perfect straight out of the box. Very precise and quick shifting on the trail and has yet to let me down. For the chainring I chose the Race Face narrow wide 32T. For a 1x setup look no further. Great build quality and well priced. There is no need for a chain guide unless you’re bombing a cliff. The chain retention is that good alongside the Zee clutch mech. I opted for the Shimano SLX cassette. The one problem I have found is that the cassette cuts into my NS cassette hub which makes removal difficult. This is a known problem for some cassette and hub combinations even when the lock ring is torqued correctly. Not a major issue but something to be aware of. Topped off the package with the KMC 10 speed chain. This no nonsense chain was easy to break to the correct length and having the quick link makes putting it back together a breeze. If you’re in the market for a 1×10 setup then this gear bundle has everything you need. The Shimano Zee derailleur is a work of art and probably one of my favourite components on my bike (sad). Pros: value zee is tank armour tough precise shifting race face chainring as good as reviews Cons: slx and ns hub alloys not so great together I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Great product with one exception/reservation by Sami1234, 25 January 2017, 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful I have driven Cotic BFe275 with this setup now approx one month. The set is generally great and high quality. Derailleur shifts accuretely and fast. Shift lever feels great both up and down ways. One thing I still want to point out. As many customers have already wrote about the Zee M640 rear derailleur I have noticed the same that even that mine is “wide ratio” version it does not handle 11-36 cassette perfectly. It doesn’t tighten the chain enough tight when it’s on 11 and starts jump over the teeth. I would recomment this derailleur on 11-34 cassette maximum size.
