Huge improvement on BB5’s by jimflex, 30 June 2015, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful My boardman cc team came equipped with bb5 and I had no end of issues. Upgraded to bb7 and the improvement is huge. Highly recommend. The main difference is the ability to adjust both pads so you can set up the pads far closer to the rotors giving far more power at the lever than with the bb5’s which had to be so far from the rotor to avoid rubbing that the levers always touched the bars on heavy braking. Who needs hydraulic? by MattB9999, 20 May 2016, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful Upgraded from Promax Renders which were sloppy and weak. These have excellent modulation, very good lever feel and more than enough power. As an example of power these with a 140 disc on rear and without touching the front brake are good enough to bring bike to stop on 10% descents. More than enough power to lock up rear wheel – not that this should happen with the modulation. Very easy to fit and superb adjustability, much easier than hydraulics. Superb.
