Quality tires by TheBOS, 5 August 2015, 46 out of 48 people found this review helpful I have been using Schwalbe durano + until now, but after changing to a bike needing 28mm tires, the sticky feeling of the durano costs too much energy. Being a randonneur I ride long distances and after using durano for the 200k, 300k and 400k qualifying brevets for this years Paris-Brest-Paris something had to be done. I tried the Michelin Pro4 endurance 28c tires and I’m sold. They are eating kilometres for breakfast! Last weekend I used them for a 1000km brevet and I couldn’t have done that with the durano +. The pro4’s were used for 70hours straight on both wet and dry tarmac, gravel, for climbing, flat areas and downhill. Rolling resitance are considerably less with the pro4. Durano + tires also has a habit of picking up small scratches and cuts. The pro4 looks as smooth as when I bought them. Pro4’s feels almost better when it rains than on dry tarmac. You can’t pump pro4 to the same high pressure as durano +, but the difference is not noticeable. Be also aware that the Pro4’s come with an outside layer that needs to be worn down before they are ready. I used them 100-150km before the outside layer was gone. Until this happens, they feels as sticky as the durano+. Now these Michelin Pro4’s are ready for Paris-Brest-Paris. Pros: rolling resistance good price excellent when it rains durable (no cuts) Cons: outside layer needs to be worn down the 28c tires can’t be bought in norway. Best tire yet. by Kona64, 4 August 2015, 19 out of 22 people found this review helpful I was initially concerned about the grip in wet conditions due to its treadless design. But I can attest to its sticky attitude in all kinds of damp situations. The low rolling resistance was also a surprise.I’ve put about 800 km on these tires and have not had one puncture yet despite riding on some pretty rough roads.Definitely a good buy.
