Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
The Commuter’s Revenge (Disclaimer: Mileage May Vary) by Profesh, 25 October 2014, 265 out of 276 people found this review helpful After two years and nigh-ten-thousand miles of precipitous climbs and perilous descents over some of the most godforsaken, obliterated stretches of tarmac ever to be inflicted by Gloucestershire County Council on an unsuspecting cyclist, I am now resolute in my conviction that Schwalbe’s Marathon Plus are a match for just about any man-made terrain yet devised ÛÒ glass, grit and countless other sundry debris are as nothing at all to these remorseless rubber behemoths, whilst the less enlightened will look up from their muddied tyre-levers in undisguised amazement as you glide with casual and devastating ease over the same stricken section of bridle-path that is their perennial, puncture-ridden commuter nightmare, bottle-shards and broken egos both left scattered in your wake. That being said, the much-touted indestructibility factor is not without its drawbacks: ultra-dense polymer will mediate every tiny deformity in the road-surface with scant regard for the durability of one’s pelvic area, and while I spend an inordinate amount of my time pedalling out of the saddle so am pretty much insulated from such posterior aggravation, riders of a more sensitive disposition (and indeed, orthodox ride posture) may deem the conditioned aversion to leather upholstery to be too high a price to pay for what basically amounts to almost-complete emancipation from those impromptu roadside pitstops which we, as cyclists, collectively know and loath. Furthermore, others have suggested a possible lack of grip in comparison to less-rigid tyres of similar construction ÛÒ I’ve only once come a cropper myself (following my rather cavalier and ill-advised ascent of a loose soil embankment in April of last year), but you may wish to opt for a wider profile if this is of particular concern. Of course, it ultimately remains for you to decide where your priorities lie; others may cite the ride-quality, weight and slightly reduced all-weather traction as deal-breakers, but personally, one-third the circumference of planet Earth without a single puncture is perhaps the only testimonial I’ll ever need. Pros: unmatched durability Cons: unforgiving ride I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
4,000 miles later and not a single puncture by Vanessa, 10 March 2014, 59 out of 62 people found this review helpful I would 110% recommend these tyres to anyone who hates changing tubes on a dark winters night in the pouring rain, or anyone who simply wants to spend their time on the bike actually riding and not worrying/fixing flats. After commuting over 4,000 miles on my Schwalbe Marathon Plus Road tyres I am putting them into retirement, not due to a puncture – I have not had a single puncture, flat or any problems at all over the last 2 years running them both in summer and winter conditions – I am retiring them only because I have worn the tread down. The resistance from these slightly chunkier tyres is minimal. The quality is fantastic. The reliability and Pros: no flat tyres long wearing I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
