Very good but be carefull by Keeeee, 6 October 2014, 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful Ok, heres the thing. My ojective was to remove my 10 year old bottom bracket which had never been used since I bought the bike. I bought this bottom bracket tool and the park tool crank remover. This product is a glorified bolt really, just with the splines to take out the bottom bracket. Things in its favour: – Good quality material. Fello cyclists – DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO BUY LOW QUALITY TOOLS. They will just crumble and are not worth the few euros you save. – It does what its designed to do. I cant really complain since it is another park tool which was able to remove the bb. Negative: – A bit pricey – I have to sympathise with the guy that put 2 stars and the others commenting on the fact that it slips out of the splines. My bb hadnt been removed in 10 years so you can imagine the pressure needed to remove it, so it did slip a lot and i even needed to buy a new bigger adjustable spanner to get more fulcrum. You sort of have to hold in the bb removal tool as best you can while nearly applying all your body weight on the spanner to turn it. Pros: build quality size Cons: pricey can damage bb splines very easily I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Good but expensive by catatafish, 3 November 2015, 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful Excellent quality tool but rather dear, though tightening a bottom bracket needs a lot of torque so you need something that’s solid enough to take the strain. There is slight give in the teeth so the tool doesn’t fit completely snug and falls out easily when applying pressure. Had to buy a 55mm M8x1 bolt with fine thread to screw the tool into the BB spline to get it to stay put when loosening/tightening. Pros: very solid I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
