- SRAM Red eTap 2×11 WIFLI GroupsetThe Red eTap 2×11 WIFLI road groupset totally revolutionises Road bike gear shifting with its wireless operation and motorsport inspired paddle shifting. Simply flick the left lever for an easier gear, and the right lever for a harder gear, or both together to change chainring. There are no shift cables to tension or wires to run, so you can simply charge it up, install, sync, and ride Removal of those untidy outer cables not only provides a more aesthetically pleasing look to your bike, it removes the worry of snapped cables leaving you stuck a in high gear when you’re miles from home. SRAM red eTap was six years in the making and was extensively and successfully tested by the Pro’s at WorldTour level, so you can be sure you are getting the very best to give you the edge on race day Features:Shifters:SRAM REDå¨ eTap shift/brake levers use SRAMÛªs AIREA wireless communication protocol for a secure and interference free connection with the derailleurs. An all-new advanced shift logic inspired by motorsport introduces a new way to shift that will virtually eliminate mistaking upshifts and downshifts through the cassette. The shifters are powered by two CR2032 watch batteries, which are good for 2 years of use. Ergonomically shaped hoods sit comfortably in the hand and the leavers are reach adjustable to suit all hand sizes Shifter Features: Wireless connection via AIREA㢠network for fast and clean installation Revised ErgoBlade levers provide confident control eTap shifting logic and positive feedback paddles eliminate shifting mistakes Seamless, quick and positive controls – right lever moves up the gears, left lever moves down, press both together to change front ring Only compatible with SRAM REDå¨ eTapå¨ derailleursFront Derailleur:The SRAM REDå¨ eTap front derailleur shifts between the chainrings quickly and decisively with SRAMÛªs own wireless communication technology. It also boasts SRAM’s Yaw㢠technology, which has changed front shifting forever by eliminating the need for a manual trim feature on the front shifter. The eTap shifter optimises the Yaw adjustments, so that as you shift through the gear range chain rub is eliminated automatically, allowing you to just concentrate on the road ahead Front Derailleur Features: Wireless connection via AIREA㢠network for fast and clean installation Braze-on/clamp adaptor Designed to work with SRAM X-GlideR㢠11-speed chainrings Exact Actuation㢠provides precise gear selections Simple clip on, clip off removable battery (swappable with rear derailleur) Only compatible with SRAM REDå¨ eTap shift/brake controlsRear Derailleur:The SRAM REDå¨ eTap WiFli rear derailleur gives you precise and lighting quick gear changes, cable free, and on a much wider range cassette than the standard eTap rear derailleur. SRAMÛªs eTap WiFli can take up to a 32T cassette, meaning getting up those mammoth climbs is no longer an unrealistic fantasy! Like the standard eTap, the WiFli also benefits from the same quality construction of the mechanical SRAM Red version, featuring ceramic pulley bearings, a carbon cage, and an anodised alloy body. The battery is also good for 1000km of use, and can be swapped over with the front derailleur’s battery should you forget to charge them up before a long ride Rear Derailleur Features: SRAM 11-speed compatible, 32T maximum capacity Wireless connection via AIREA㢠network for fast and clean installation Exact Actuation㢠provides precise gear selections Designed to work with SRAM PowerGlide㢠and PowerdomeX㢠cassettes Simple clip on, clip off removable battery (swappable with front derailleur) Only compatible with SRAM REDå¨ eTap shift/brake controls SRAM RED eTap Battery Charger: Simply snap open the latch on your derailleur batteries, slide them out, and slot them into the eTap charger. Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
Excellent even if costly by jevens, 21 June 2018, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I previously had SRAM Rival on my Planet X RT80, and I was finding the shifting really sporadic and very tricky to dial in, which would then stop being right after another few rides. Dropped chains in and outboard were regular despite having a chaincatcher. Fortunate enough to have some money saved up, I decided to jump on the eTap hype having read countless reviews and already having the SRAM kit on the bike – after all, I can move this kit to a new frame if and when I decide I need to. I am relatively heavy @ 84kgs so needed the Wifli medium cage version so that I would still be able to climb hills. The installation process is pretty easy, I’m not a mechanic, but I was able to install. NOTE: the medium cage rear derailleur installation is slightly different to the short cage – in that the order you do the B-tension and chain installation is reversed for this. I found that the SRAM youtube video for this specific derailleur was really useful. GCN/Road CC videos only cover the short cage version so doesn’t quite get it right. The rest of the setup is simple, and having ridden a couple of times the ability to trim on-bike during the ride and dial in the shifting is really useful. Charge time for the batteries was good, roughly 45 mins per battery from flat. The charger can be run from any micro usb cable. The included brake cables are excellent SRAM Red quality, but most of my time on this installation was spent trying to fish the rear brake cable through my frame – I stupidly pulled the old brake cables out before putting a sheath over them to feed the new ones in. Not a mistake I’ll make again. Shifting is a touch slower than I had expected but this may improve as I continue to tune the setup, and it’s plenty quick enough for my kind of riding. Much more immediate than the constant clicking of the double tap mechanical I had on there before. The shifters themselves are satisfying to click, and the left for easier/right for harder set up is really natural after 5 minutes. The hoods are slightly smaller in diameter when gripping them. This is neither a positive or negative in my eyes, but I like the feel of them. Pros: easy to install and set up works with my existing sram rival kit smooth shifting quiet easy to tweak intuitive shifting Cons: expensive I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Faultless function and design. by LORDT, 23 October 2017, 2 out of 4 people found this review helpful Upgrading my Specialized Roubaix SL4 from standard Ultegra to Sram RED Etap has been revolutionary. Absolutely no problem acclimatising to the seamless, smooth, silent gear changes. It’s obviously unfair to compare the past with the future. Suffice to say; the positive click when tapping the gear lever is your only clue you have changed gear other than the difference in turning your pedals. Whisper smooth operation, even under pressure whilst climbing. I run it with the Sram Red GXP BB compact crank set, 11-32T cassette and Sram chain. Feels like I have a new bike. Time to take to the hills! Brilliant service from Eric in customer service. Thank you! Pros: life changing I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
