Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
OK, but not really worth the money by kitmonkey, 16 July 2018, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I picked these up in the recent sale and even at the reduced price, I’m still in two minds about them. The good: Finish is great, bearings nice and smooth and they are pretty light weight. Whilst clipped in they are great – they feel really solid underfoot due to their really wide platform. The low profile also means less bashing on rocks and roots. Unclipped, they have plenty of grip, even if you feet do rock around a bit more over the protruding parts. The bad: Like many other reviews here, I can confirm they are a real b*tch to clip in using FiveTen Hellcats. I didn’t have so much of a problem with some Shimano M162Ls but even then it does take a few goes, with me either having to lift off completely, or wiggling my foot from side to side until it hit the sweet spot. My recent Shimano’s (DX SPDs and XT trail pedals) never had this issue and I could just stamp in the general direction of my pedals and the would engage first time, every time. I think I may try some Funn Rippers next… I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Great pedal if you’re looking for SPD compatibility by RGuerra, 14 June 2017, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Had been on flats for the last ~6 years and traditional cleats felt small as I wanted to feel the support on the sole. Never been a fan of CB so wanted an alternative platform pedal and these came out great with SPD compatibility. Quality is good, overall and they’re really light (went for the Ti version) and $100 less to the comparable Mallet. I can get in easily. As others reviewed, cleat screws are smaller than Shimanos so I kept my old screws to be safe. I have two complains: 1) Cleat is thick, really. Shoes expose the cleat way too much so I’m clapping all the time on floors. Because of this, the pedal platform required removing all the spacers on the pins so I can hope reaching them at some situations, overall my shoe won’t contact the platform, which is ironic for a platform pedal, photo is with default spacers placed. Using 5-10 Maltese Falcon Race (partial responsible of this). 2) Pins aren’t snug. You can feel them rattling until you torque them. Used locktite to keep’em longer but I guess I’ll end up losing some sooner than later, and they won’t come with any pin spares with the package!! Pros: light and well priced mechanism works great spd compatible Cons: thick cleat clapping as you walk likely to lose pins platform won’t contact my shoe I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
