Durable, Economical by Kako06, 2 January 2014, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful Had these tyres on my intermediate touring bike used mainly on road cummuting for 700km. No punctures and tyres still looking like new (I do put tyre gell on the sidewall to keep the rubber from cracking and looking new and shiny – don’t get this stuff on the treads or you will be off). Not experienced any problems with sidewall issues (I keep prssures to 65 psi and I weigh 65 kg – 75 kg with shopping on board). The sidewall problems mentioned in other feedbacks may be the result of the rider being heavy or operating at too low tyre pressures. Rolling resistance is fair. I put a slightly larger rear tyre on (700c x 38) to get contact area more circular which helps reduce rolling resistance. Seems to have worked as my average speed has gone up by 5% over when I ran with 2 x 700 x 32), There are better tyres for rolling resistance out there but for the money I cannot praise these tyres enough. They look good on the bike giving what is a cheap budget bike (Shockwave 500ct) a more upmarket look. I got the reflex tyres and the reflective looks good and stands-out a mile (good safety feature) Easily fitted in less than 2 minutes per wheel Have used them on a hard packed cinder canal towpath and they performed fine. No sign of any cutting up on the tread. Grip seems fairly good on all surfaces I have ridden on even in the wettest conditions (standing water) Pros: good value look good durable good puncture resistance Cons: rolling resistance fair I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Good tyre, for what it was intended for. by Jules71, 13 April 2014, 7 out of 8 people found this review helpful I got a 28c size for commuting daily 30kms. Roads can be very gritty so I opted for puncture protection over weight. I think there is a good balance with this tyre between weight and protection. The bonus feature is the reflective side stripe. Very visible, and makes the tyres look white-walled. As I have disk brakes I hope it stays looking good for a while! Note, I struggled to fit the tyre over the rims but I learned to make very sure that the tyre was well bedded down inside the well of the riml opposite to the part of the tyre I was trying to lift over the rim. Then it was ok to fit. Pros: reflective stripe Cons: might be difficult to fit I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
