Not for low arches by TorontoStv, 25 May 2018, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful At first glance, these shoes look great. Quick boa closure, extremely stiff soles, wider toe box. What’s not to like? I measured both my feet (typically a 10.5 or size 44) and used the tool on Bont’s website to discover that a 45 should fit my feet. The shoes came in, I tried them on, and they fit great in the width and length. The heel cup is great and keeps your heel in position. The front velcro strap doesn’t really seem to do anything because the stiff sole prevents it from tightening the shoe, so just consider it decoration. Well, unfortunately for my feet, two things make the shoes unusable: – There’s a built in very high arch support. It jabs hard into my arches, and after contacting Bont to check they told me that doing the heat molding won’t be able to get rid of it. Just standing in the shoes is painful because of this. – The hard bottom of the shoe kinda makes a bathtub that your foot fits into. This is fine, and I get why it’s done for support, etc. Unfortunately, the edges of the bathtub are razor sharp and I’m worried they’ll grind into parts of my foot. Maybe I could learn to deal with these shoes if I only did 40 km trips, but I can’t imagine the agony that they would cause on 140 km rides. Pros: stiff sizing is accurate not too heavy Cons: high arch support that cannot be reduced sharp edges inside shoe velcro strap is useless I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
