Light,slick looking,very low longevity ,great braking ,lousy shifting. by rd45, 3 May 2017 Using Campy since the 70’s. Used to mean durability but not any more. I’m on #3 rear deur. shifter in less than 2 yrs. If I’m lucky they last 2700 miles, if not then it’s 2300 miles (one month or so for a pro).They freeze up and the lever wont move. Gets progressively worse and worse till….you cant shift. Record( or stupid Record) makes no difference, unfortunately. The 10 speed stuff is just fine, lasts, shifts very reliably, is good equiptment. With a heavy heart ,I am going to abandon Campy. It is no longer worth the grief despite a long glorious history. Logistically Campy has been getting harder and harder to support. It’s faster to get parts from Ireland than in Boulder ,Co. !!!! As brake levers these are just fabulous,esp. coupled with dual pivot Campy brakes (you don’t need disc brakes even at 55 mph). In a 14 mph crash( lever #4- Front deur. – not incl. in the three count ) the carbon lever was fine, but the body was severed .C’est la guerre. Look farther East to larger suppliers for your shifting needs….Sorry can’t recommend these any longer. Record brake/shifters – are they work the extra money? by Petecycles1, 18 November 2016 Overwhelmingly yes! I’ve used Campagnolo record, Nouvo Record, Corsa Record and just about all the variants over the years, and these don’t disappoint, even compared with almost new Chorus levers, the difference is quite noticeable. Very positive shifting, which I know through experience will only get better, and much more direct braking, with none of the sponginess you find as you work down through the various other Campagnolo group sets.
