Upgrade from V1, yes. From V2, no. by MechanicX, 25 September 2016, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful This together with the V3 power unit transforms your old V1/V2 EPS into V3. This allows your groupset to communicate with your smartphone via an app. The app allows you to customise your shifting in many ways, including shifting both mechs from one shifter and tuning the front mech to auto-adjust the rear when you shift chainrings. So far, so good. The bad news. In terms of claims made for the app being able to track your rides & keep a record of wear to your components & to advise on your shifting/gear use, pure bs. The functionality is there, the potential is there, but the app simply does not perform (at the moment, when they update, maybe it will work fine?) The device will talk to your Garmin 520/820/1000 and will give numbers of shifts and can display gear positions on the head unit. So to summarise. If you have V1 & want to upgrade to the internal power unit , go for it (you will need the power unit). If you have V2, avoid. At least until they get the app working properly because you will gain very little for å£å£å£s Pros: wireless communication talks to your garmin much easier charging Cons: app it works with needs sorting I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
