Gloves that keep the cold out and also breathe. by pos13, 9 February 2016, 20 out of 21 people found this review helpful This winter I purchased 3 other pairs of gloves including a pair of sealskinz to cover my poor little fingers. One pair were highly waterproof and windproof but sweated ..they are now oK for dogwalking. Another pair were so large and bulky I could have slept in them, then the sealskinz were very comfortable and done the job but had no breath-ability..so after 40-50 miles my hands were like prunes.The Castelli Lightness glove arrived just as I was getting ready for a cycle..I opened them and to my dismay they were extremely thin..I thought no way would they work but put them on anyway and headed off (with sealskinz in my pouch if needed) I have since cycled almost 700 miles wearing these gloves..I can feel a cool air circulating over them but my hand is never cold..they will not warm a cold hand up but they will maintain whatever temperature your skin is at and protect from the elements. I live on the west coast of Ireland and so far have endured many hailstone showers, rain showers and crippling head winds wearing these. I am quite amazed how good they are given how thin the material is…oh and the snot wipe is premium quality should you need to know. Unfortunately these gloves are not padded so depending on the state of the routes I take I may wear my regular short padded gloves over. These gloves are not waterproof I don’t think but I have yet to experience rain penetrating them. Pros: excellent fit comfortable look nice breathable windproof Cons: i wish they came in a padded version. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
