Great High Tech Upgrade by sclim, 27 May 2016, 14 out of 17 people found this review helpful Crazy light, and subjectively frictionless pulley bearings. I bought this based on Friction Facts reports (Background report on rear derailleur pulleys, bearings and cages from 2014, plus bottom line stating friction losses from privately commissioned report) of 2.4 Watt savings under the standardised lab conditions of the tests. I have been following Friction Facts reports for 2 years now, and am very familiar with their test methods. The installation instructions were well documented, and I found it no problem for a careful beginner with the right tools. Bolts torque specifications (1Nm, 0.3Nm) were lower than my low torque wrench specs, but I estimated, and will follow with Loc-tite. Pros: light pulleys with large cutouts low drag. Cons: expensive! Kept watching the price ,reading the reviews,hiding a few quick from the wife ( ha,ha ) Eventually Jumped in and bought one Fitted it myself in around an hour after messing with DI2 set up again First ride out ….silky smooth,very surprised how easily the crank spun. Did 54miles with 4000ft of climbing and to be honest it felt like I had 2 extra gears. It’s expensive but it does make a difference….the chain,instead of clanking round the cassette felt like silk.(less kinks) Bought the Garmin Varia earlier in the year…. And if you asked me which item I would buy over the other it would be the Garmin ,but I wouldn’t want to give either back….if you’ve got the money give it a whirl. Pros: silky smooth easy-ish to fit Cons: too expensive I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
