This is the worst multi tool I have ever owned; I wish I had never wasted my money on it. by cj32, 22 March 2015, 13 out of 21 people found this review helpful So, some time ago, I was without a full length 8mm wrench to remove my pedals so I could pack my bike up for a trip. I knew my trusty crank brothers m17 had one, so I tried it. While I succeeded in removing both pedals, I also succeeded in turning a rectangular, in shape, multi tool in to a parallelogram. I was surprised and a little mad at the company and my newly purchased poor excuse of a multi tool that was not weakened after using it for something it was designed for. Oh yes and the torx wrench head snapped off as well when I attempted to loosen my rear derailleur. Now, I know what you are thinking “The multi tool would not have reshaped itself or had tips of its wrenches break off if you hadn’t over tightened them in the first place” However, one would have to over tighten something in the first place to be accused of doing it after the fact, correct? Pictures were taken. Manufacturer was contacted. Product was returned for inspection. Time passed. While my seemingly #1 go to multi tool was temporarily out of commission, I reminded myself of why I LOVE MY PARK MULTI TOOL BECAUSE IT WORKS. I finally receive my multi tool back from crank brothers. I immediately notice nothing new or replaced except for the increased stiffness in the tool overall. The only thing their ‘customer service’ dept. did was simply over tighten the bolts on either end of the multi tool and ship it back to me. No note. No explanation of what work they performed on my tool. Nothing. For a consumer/ rider, there is no worse feeling in customer service when the customer feels like the manufacturer is doing as much as they can to not lift a finger in favor of helping the customer to get back on track. Short of melting this excuse of a multi tool down into bullets for something more useful, it goes without saying that I am enjoying a thorough search for its replacement. Might I strongly suggest to all of my fellow riders to never purchase/ waste your money on this company’s poorly designed multi tools. I would say they should stick to what they know, but I would be lying if I said I did not receive as cold a shoulder and effort to help when I had to pay for a replacement pedal of theirs that seemed to break with premature wear on it. This is the worst multi tool I have ever owned. My faith in crank brothers is fading fast. My only hope is that for those of you that have read this, you not waste your hard earned money on their products. We do not work hard so we can intentionally spend our money on poorly designed products. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Pros: i can put them on the never buy from again list Cons: poor customer service poor effort made for customers by manufacturer poorly designed products poor materials used for products weak points in company and products infuriating process to get products serviced terrible experience all around I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Useful, but not for singlespeeders or hub gear riders by Gilesjuk, 26 May 2014, 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful This is a pretty useful tool, very compact. It could do with a better case for when you carry it along side tubes (they can get damaged by the sharp points). Also, if you have a singlespeed bike or hub heared bike, the chain tool isn’t much use to you. It will split the chain but not rejoin it. If you have a split link handy this is not much of a problem. But it was a step backwards compared to my Park Tool chain tool. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
