Quiet – yes. Worth it? No… by Neezurt, 27 October 2015, 10 out of 12 people found this review helpful I’ve had mine for about a year now. The first was replaced under warranty – faulty straight out of the box (the tension adjuster wouldn’t ‘click’). Since buying it, I’ve invested in rollers as I think the Jet Fluid Pro fails in many departments. Where it succeeds (as a turbo trainer) is that it is quiet, and it’s relatively compact to store away. The negatives – which, I’m afraid, represent the large part of this review: 1. Manufacturing quality very poor, with too much ‘play’ in all the moving parts. Even one of the press-to-release buttons that allow the legs to fold away doesn’t always engage and needs a hex key or similar to operate 2. When any of my three bikes are locked in, they tend to ‘lean’ regardless of how the adjustable foot leveller – very plastic in construction – is adjusted. This is a design flaw – and happens due to the course ‘thread’ of the helical axle adjustment screw; it allows the bike to ‘sink’ once you sit down on that particular side under weight once you sit on the bike. It’s a really basic design error IMO 3. There’s way too much ‘flex’ in the foot design of the main frame of the turbo. You can even see the legs bend out with each click of the axle adjustment screw! 4. You will need a front wheel riser – which is an optional extra (on something this expensive!) – to get your bike at the right angle. 5. Many of the parts on this unit are incredibly plasticky, and don’t give the impression of a three-hundred quid item. I’m sorry, Cyclops. Any engineer worth his salt would have a field day on the primitive way this unit has been thought up and then built. Pros: quite for a turbo Cons: see 1 to 5 of my review very poor vfm I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
