Does the job, a bit Heath Robinson by DynatechBoy, 10 June 2017, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Got one of these to convert an old MTB to single speed for off road use, partly for the fun of it but also to level the playing field when I go off roading with my kids It did the job and has been pretty much fit and forget. A standard 8 speed chain runs through it fine and once tension is set properly ‘it just works’ I picked the DMR one over a spring loaded variant as I felt the chain tension would be more reliable, so far its been fine, even on rough terrain. Some loss of a adjustment on the first (rough) ride but some tweaks and threadlock have held it firm Getting it set up was a bit of a faff as it attached to the rear hanger thread by bolt and you have to put the rear skewer through the black plastic bit – not had a puncture yet but can imagine it might be a pain to sort – not a nightmare but not as simple as popping the wheel in and out Overall I like it, it works – and it introduced me to the joy that only comes from single speed mountain biking I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
