Rubber and Packaging by Anonymous, 29 March 2012, 55 out of 55 people found this review helpful I work for Ergon and would like to answer a couple of points. Firstly the rubber issue. Since March 2011 all grips are made using a proprietary rubber compound which suffers a lot less / doesn’t suffer from the gluey sensation which ALL GRIPS suffer from. This is caused by UV light, as well as contaminants (sweat, for example). We tested 42 different compounds in our quest to find one which we hopefully has solved this issue and we are confident of success. Please note that all products are covered by a 2 year guarantee from the date of purchase. (I am required to give a rating here, so have given a *** rating as I want to be neutral to the overall rating). Secondly, the packaging on our products changed in 2009 to be entirely paper based. Made from recycled cardboard and using soy based inks. It uses 30% less material than the previous packaging, which incidentally was ‘clean’ meaning that it was not laminated like a lot of the perceived more friendly packaging out there, and could be 100% recycled. Very comfortable grips of excellent quality by Tomcat01, 8 February 2016, 8 out of 8 people found this review helpful Bought the Ergon grips to replace the basic standard set that came with the bike. The Ergons are not cheap, but feel very comfortable with a much larger palm support area than before. Built quality is very good. Would recommend them.
