Great value. by Anonymous, 28 October 2012, 9 out of 9 people found this review helpful I’ve recently fitted one of these in my 1×9 trail hardtail, my old e*thirteen guidering was totally worn out and I was looking for a cheapish replacement as money is tight right now and I was replacing chain, cassette and jockey wheels too. So far this chainring is proving brilliant with my otherwise SRAM set up, it feels good under load and is reasonably light too. Word of warning to the unaware though… remember this is singlespeed DH ring so the inner dimensions between the mounting bolt hole lugs are the same as a typical outer chainring, not a middle, so if like me you’ve went 1×9 by simply swapping out the rings this won’t fit the middle ring spot on your spider. Being from an engineering background it was no probs for me to grind down the lugs slightly and make it fit the middle ring position of my Truvativ Firex cranks without compromising the ring itself (there’s more than enough metal) but it’s worth pointing out, and don’t try it unless you really know what you’re doing. Impressive! by JesperLin, 3 April 2015, 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful Saw lots of good reviews so gave it a try as i am moving towards a 1×9 setup but I couldn’t find a 42T narrow wide with 104BCD. When it arrived, i was a bit skeptical of its ability to hold the chain as the chain ring looked rather ordinary, but since i’ve already paid for it and waited for 3 weeks before its arrival (darned CRC’s normal delivery is of snail speed..), i decided to give it a go. At first i was rather careful with changing of gears, as i lack of confidence with the product but the chain did not drop, thus with ever growing confidence i tried changing gears normally and trust me the chain stuck to the chainring like super glue is used instead of grease. And you bet i was impressed! Great product! For the price it cannot get any better! Pros: works like a narrow wide rather light weight Cons: read about its durability; but yet to see any wear I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
