Amazing by stone, 13 April 2014, 19 out of 20 people found this review helpful I fitted this on my sram pg1050 cassette, and I removed the 17t, and it works amazingly. You don’t notice very much the lose of the 17t. I have a sram X9 rear derailleur, I just pushed the B-screw all the way in, and it work perfect with the 40t no problems at all. Up in front I put a narrow wide chain ring 32t, it work great as ratio wise, I don’t think you need to go any lower then that for all mountain, enduro. Last thing I lose in total 250grams buy removing front shifter, derailler, cable and the two chain rings, they weighed a total of 360grams and the narrow wide ring and 40t-rex were 110grams, so I lose 250grams 🙂 very happy. Hope always impress! by westy33, 19 March 2015, 19 out of 21 people found this review helpful I have recently changed to 1×10 and needed that extra zing to spin up the climbs. I searched for this and spent a lot of time reading the reviews. The one review I wanted wasn’t really there! So after purchasing I hope this helps anyone like me! Bike is Full Suspension 29er. Rear Cassette Used – SRAM PG1050 Rear D̩railleur Used – SRAM X9 Type 2 Clutch (Original “B” screw used) Chain Used – SRAM PC1051 Front Chainring – RACE FACE Narrow/Wide – 32T Removed Rear cassette, cleaned. I removed 17T cog as suggested by HOPE in instruction manual. Fitted HOPE expander, replaced cassette, leaving out 17T cog, fitted, torqued and fitted wheel. Wound original SRAM B screw all the way in, shifted up on to 40T, then re-aligned B screw to the stated clearance by HOPE, screw is 2mm out from head! Perfect shifting, no noticeable jump without the 17T cog missing. Hope this helps! Pros: effortless shifting finest qauilty climbs should be easier!
