Really Good All Round Tyre by Anonymous, 17 October 2012, 35 out of 35 people found this review helpful I’ve been running these 2.25 Kevlar 60a compound tyres for 3 years now. I have them front & back on my full susser and hardtail. They are quick for their size but have an abundance of grip. They corner and brake well whilst providing good traction. Their extra size makes for a comfortable ride on the rear of a hardtail. They are marketed towards the spring/summer/autumn end of the season but I find them good and capable in winter too. In fact after a summer like ours there isn’t much to seperate summer form winter. The usual caveat applies…thick mud they are O.K but nothing more, in other words like all but dedicated mud tyres. They perform well in the wet. Overall totally recommendable!! I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Great Tyre by Anonymous, 15 April 2013, 24 out of 26 people found this review helpful Now I have a road bike I can kit my Whyte 901 out for single track/cross country. Spent ages reading up on tyres and settled on the Ardent for the front with a Mxxis Crossmark on the rear. Having switched from Panaracer xc fire pros these feel amazing, so much more cushion. Ran them at Swinley for their first run at 35 psi (6’2″ 14 stone) and they felt amazing. The track was very sticky and muddy; the tyre just ate everything gravel, mud and hard pack. The extra size of the tyres smoothed out the track and made the jumps feel much sweeter. It clogged up a bit in the thick mud but frankly I wouldn’t want to compromise the rest of my riding for the few muddy spots and to be fair I don’t think it would be much different with any other tyre. Could not recommend this tyre enough – love it!! I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
