Great rear tyre for mud, low volume hard ride by Max2559, 5 March 2015, 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful So this is a bargain. Really good performance in the mud – but not the best I must say. Bontrager G-Mud Team Issue for example is way better. But this tyre still wins overall I’d say. Why? It’s very very light (about half what the G-Mud weighs… so very significant). It is very very cheap. It is very decent as a rear tyre. Some other reviewers have said it is sketchy round corners. It is if you put it on the front. It is terrible on the front. It is a similar design to the WTB velociraptor rear tyre design – and thats why WTB name theirs as ‘rear’. On the back though it is predominantly going in a straight line, and when you want to swing the rear tyre out, this will oblige with fairly easy control. One thing that is making me consider a change is the volume. It is a very low volume, so it is a hard ride an unforgiving in comparison to other fatter, bigger, heavier tyres. It wears quite fast in comparison to some tyres I’ve had. No such thing as a perfect tyre, but this is definitely a decent tyre and one I would recommend. Pros: very light cheap rolls well good grip in all conditions when on rear wheel Cons: poor for control on front wheel not much puncture protection in built low volume = hard ride wears a little quickly I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
