Tried to like it but just fed up by HairyWookie, 11 March 2014, 12 out of 12 people found this review helpful This lube came as a freebie with a purchase of a bike valet kit; tried for many, many miles (~750) and have just gotten fed up with it. It works great at first on a freshly cleaned & degreased chain, but after use in wet & muddy conditions, often requiring repeated applications to keep running smoothly, the whole of the lube congeals together to form a chewing gum like deposit, virtually welded to everything it has touched; front mech (big ball of chewing gum), rear mech jockey wheels, chainrings, cassette, white chain stay guard got thrown away. Degreaser wont shift it; paraffin wont shift it. A weeks soaking in petrol eventually managed to shift it. Dry & dusty conditions have pretty much the same effect; only the chain will squeak quicker. I used to lube the bike with Finish Line Wet Lube for 3 years and 4000 miles; will switch back to it, as never had problems like with this Muc Off stuff. Disappointing as all other Muc Off cleaning products work great. But avoid this lube! Pros: cheap smells nice Cons: cant remove once congealed only with petrol reacts to mud water heat & dust to solidify does not last long till chain drys & squeeks drys out then wear accelerates really quickly congeals similar to chewing gum watery; drips off chain onto shed floor caused gears to mis shift until scraped clean I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Performs very poorly over time. by tolucablu, 12 March 2014, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful Initial thoughts were that this seemed to lube the drivetrain well. Aft a few rides though it set all over the drivetrain preventing it from functioning properly. It had to be scraped off all parts that had been in contact with the chain, by stripping down the mechs. Will not put near my bike again. Pros: biodegradeable Cons: seems to biodegrade on the bike too I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
