Good waterproof shoe covers by GP73, 12 August 2016, 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful I tried it for the first time this morning for commuting. First impression – the large size fits perfectly my 42 GIRO MTB shoes even though I was surprised by the way you put them on (take off the shoe, put the cover around your ankle, put your shoe back on and then wrap your shoe from the top with the cover – There are instructions included.). But it gets the work done. It is perfectly waterproof. The material reminds me of surgical gloves because it is both elastic and waterproof, but it is thicker and it seems to be resistant enough. It is the second product that i have bought from Northwave, and in both cases, their products are surprisingly light and longlasting. My only concern is that I have to walk a couple of hundreds steps with the shoe covers every time I use them. I Wonder if the material Under the toes will hold on. Over shoes don’t last by ttman, 12 February 2018, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful After using these overshoes for one 80 mile cycle ride they have already begun to fray near the toe and there is a hole above the seam. I did end up on a having to walk about half a mile due to google cycle routes sending me on a muddy minor road for a short way, but even so… I think stretching any fabric over the outside of a shoe can only be considered a work-around solution to waterproofing cycling shoes. I have two previous pairs which have failed (but not so soon) and I think if you can just buy waterproof shoes at least for winter riding. I will not buy anymore of these from any brand.
