Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
Good pads easy to install by 2toomanybikes, 14 August 2017 Seem to be holding up well. Used for some downhill and XC. One of the metal holder clips was missing or maybe we lost it when opening the pack. So save your old clips as they are tiny and easy to loose. Were easy to install when the clips were put in the correct way. Just slide down into the brakes calipers to clip in. Installation took less than 1 minute. Pros: easy to install Cons: easy to loose tiny clip on installation I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Nukeproof? by THEDoctorMotorfinger, 10 June 2017 Having bought a Hays Carbon caliper for a bike I am building I needed pads but I was having a time finding stock pads that were not as much as the cost of the caliper. Now I am not sure if this is indicative to these pads or all of them but the springs need to be seated correctly and there is a trick to it. Line up the end of the hook of the retainer spring on one side in the tabs that hold the spring and push the upper part of the spring on the pat into the tab and it should lock in properly. Repeat this on the other side. Likewise the spring must be oriented so that when you push up on the pad the spring grips the pin on the piston on each side of the caliper. It was tricky but once I figured it out they snap in very purposefully into the tabs. They are very much conformant to Hayes Carbon and Stroker calipers. Likewise they are real Semi Metallic pads. This s an upgrade from Organic material and not as harsh on rotors as Metallic nor as expensive as Ceramic. Hydraulic brakes are best left to those with experience in the maintenance of Hydraulic brakes. Some brakes are easier to do a pad swap than others. These are not the easiest but with patience and an understanding of how to seat a retainer spring these brakes are not really difficult or require a lot of technical expertise to install. There are those who will try and say this is a quality issue. To them I say POPPYCOCK. Do not blame the brush for bad artwork. The retainer springs seat properly if you hook the end in place and pus up and out on the upper retainer doing the same on the other side. It is important to always do it this way. When pressed into the caliper they will click as the caliper grips the pin. Seeing as how i got to service the brake as a new part it is also important that before you remove your old pads you use a screwdriver or thick butter knife to collapse the pistons of the caliper completely. If this is not done doing a pad swap you will drive yourself insane wondering why nothing fits. Once your new pads are installed and your caliper back on the bike ALWAYS cycle your brakes at least three times to seat the pistons. That way you do not get on your bike and realize “OMG! I DON’T HAVE BRAKES!” No you DO NOT HAVE TO BLEED YOUR BRAKES. You just need to reset your pads like any other hydraulic brake system. The ONLY times you bleed your brakes is Scheduled fluid replacement, you serviced your calipers with new seals, or you got a brake line slashed and need to replace it. Do not make more of maintenance than you really have to. Pros: cost oem fit semi metallic nice grip surface anti corrosion coating Cons: retainer springs are tricky to work with. not for beginner mechanics! first time instalation takes patience. retainer spring must be seated properly. pads held in by retainer springs not pin restrain I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
