Semi-metallic ones are really good by pinbiker, 29 December 2015, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I’ve been a long time user of Shimano organic pads, which work very well when they’re new, but in my experience the stopping power decreases heavily when 1/3 of the pad has been worn out so I decided to give these ones a try. Bed-in period was longer than with the Shimano organic ones, as expected, but I was amazed at the amount of power that they provided on my Deore M596 brakes. Before these pads I was beginning to think I may need to upgrade to the XT brakes as my fingers were getting really tired, but the issue was definitely the pads. At the beginning they would squeal occasionally, but after a couple of trails the noise has completely disappeared and it’s as silent as you can get now (at least in the dry). I would give them 5 stars but will take one away because the provided spring doesn’t fit the pads snuggly enough and makes me feel they would easily slip out of position. I bought two sets and both had the same issue. I had to keep using the springs of the pads they were replacing. Pros: great power silent Cons: spring doesn’t fit snuggly I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
