- ODI AG-1 Aaron Gwin Lock-On GripsODI has a long and established racing heritage. Our first generation Lock-On System was born out of the need to quickly fasten grips for downhill racing and quickly became the standard for racers everywhere We are pushing the bar even further and have partnered up with 2-time UCI World Cup Downhill Champion Aaron Gwin to develop the next evolution in race-inspired grips. The new AG-1 grips were redesigned from the ground up with racing specific features When we partnered with Aaron Gwin to develop a grip, we set out to make the most technically advanced DH grip ever made. We started from the ground up with an entirely new single-clamp locking system which offers over 10mm of extra grip space and allows for a more ergonomic feel on the either end of the grip. We topped this off with multiple layers of gripping surface utilizing a unique rib pattern that provides positive traction without making the grip feel larger. To ensure that the grip would stand up to the abuse of world class DH courses, we added alloy reinforced ends which combines the strength of aluminum with the forgiveness of a plastic end. We packed all of this into an ultra slim grip for optimal feedback and split second decision making. The result of all this hard work is the AG1 Lock-0n Grips: the best DH grips ever made åÊFeatures:Aluminum Reinforced Ends: provide extra durability against grip blowoutAngled Rib Pattern: Slightly harder compound designed to match articulation points of your hands for added controlNew Single Clamp: Version 2.1 Lock-On System (clamps are not replaceable) Hard Plastic End: Molded over the aluminium endcap, the end provides durability but will not gouge New Multi-Layer Grip Pattern: Soft compound with dual knurl pattern for improved control in all conditions Ergonomic Design: provides more comfort for those who ride on the inside or outside of the grip Increased Bolt size to 3mm Allen to help prevent stripping and increase strength. Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:
Look great… by MrBean, 11 February 2015, 9 out of 9 people found this review helpful These are very good grips, they are quite a narrow grip at about 28mm diameter but I don’t find this a problem and I will be using with and without gloves. The grip is firm yet is actually a little tacy, the lines in the grip fit perfectly to the creases in my hands. You need to figure out which way to line them up, I put them with the odi logo on the grips surface facing up. They use only one clamp and this takes a 2.5mm hex key to tighten, the clamps can’t be removed, the end caps are built in and the grips are about 135mm in length from end to end inculuding the collar. They may not be the most economical grips with not having replaceable clamps, grips and end caps but I thought I’d give them a try as I liked the look of them as they are different from anything else. Not sure of the weight but feel fairly light. These are of a similar new school design to the new grips from Hope, the Hope grips being 30mm diameter. Overall I’m pleased I purchased these grips. Very good but I find a drawback on this product. by nikos, 11 January 2015, 8 out of 9 people found this review helpful Very good grip, feel very light on your bar and you give you the whole control of your bike, good enough for those who ride on the edge of bar, it has very good grip on your hand but the one thing that I don’t like it on that grip is that after a ride on my route,I fall on a jump and after the hard plastick end from the grip has broken( as you can see in the foto) but I try to stick them and now it is ok, I hope to keep me enough time before it destroy competely.
