Great price,looks,quaility and light! by Stewsy, 4 November 2017 Having just changed my cassette, chain and jockey wheels it was only right I should also replace my chainring. I was running the Shimano XTR M9000 chainring in 32T which was excellent but was starting to become worn after around 5000 miles. Decided on this One Up chainring due to price (Shimano is waayyyy expensive!), weight (a lot lighter than the Shimano equivalent) and the chainline correction that One-Up discuss on their website. Only been running it a week or so and it seems good but doesn’t seem quite as crisp as the Shimano chainring although I haven’t had any dropped chains (not that I ever did with the Shimano chainring either) but does seen somewhat smoother when pedalling so slightly less noise. Because this chainring is made from alloy rather than the Titanium of the Shimano product I guess the One-Up will not last quiet as long but then it is almost 2/3rd’s cheaper than Shimano. The chainring design and finish looks pro and matches perfectly the colour of the XTR cranks. You also don’t need to run the Shimano tabs saving 35grams and the chainring is much lighter than the Shimano version. Pros: price looks quality construction weight noise (or lack of) Cons: life span shifting accuracy I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Great quality chainring by Jeffa, 16 October 2017 Excellent quality, feels very smooth. No hint of dropping the chain even when I’ve forgotten to switch the clutch on the rear mech on. The info on the Oneup website suggests if you’re running it with a boost rear hub you need boost specific cranks but it is working absolutely fine on my standard XTR 9000 cranks and boost hub.
