Not impressed by MComerford, 30 May 2014, 43 out of 44 people found this review helpful I bought a TS2.2 as the TS2 was an industry standard and I couldn’t justify the cost of the DT Swiss stand. First impressions were not too bad, it is robust , well finished and the optional mount is ok, if a little expensive. My major issue is with centering the calipers. This stand is not factory calibrated and Park have the nerve to sell a centering gauge. I used a properly dished front wheel to calibrate mine, but was dismayed to find that calibration was off for a rear wheel. I spent many hours re-checking and fine tuning the calibration, to no avail. The cause of the problem is that the caliper arm is not mounted square to the stand and the caliper mount is also not true. Not acceptable for a precision tool from a market leader. My experience with Park tools thus far is not very positive, over priced and under engineered. Pros: solid and durable Cons: poor build quality not factory calibrated I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
poor QC, common issue with incorrect factory calibration by poida, 27 February 2014, 37 out of 41 people found this review helpful Was received with the caliper bolt all rusted out, other parts of the truing stand appear to be slightly rusted as well. Given the significant cost of the stand one would imagine that it would go through an extensive quality assurance/control process. The stand received was definitely not factory calibrated. The calipers were about 5mm off when checked with a correctly dished front & rear wheel. i also had to adjust the bolt that controls the tension on the caliper arm – one was too tight which did not allow the spring to work correctly to make the left arm reset to the bolt position (when adjusting wide to narrow). Due to the bolt position against the two springs, the two caliper arm tips with not in line, about 3mm off. Overall really badly calibrated. It would be good if they at least included a calibration tool (like that metal park tool version to align for correct dish – but instead made out of hard plastic, should not cost more than $10 for them to make). Perhaps it’s a bad batch of stands? Not sure. My stand had a build/’calibrated’ sticker date of 23/7/2013. Seems like others had issues with rust and bad factory calibration… Cons: rust terrible factory calibration expensive for all these flaws I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
