Good – but with limitations by Neezurt, 29 April 2014, 17 out of 18 people found this review helpful I bought these to stick on a hack-around MTB that I now mainly use on tarmac – I wanted an MTB tyre that would roll well, but have potential for off-road (trails rather than serious stuff). At 60psi, they’re pretty good on tarmac, with little rolling resistance and quiet running. I’ve only picked up one puncture (when at 50psi) when a short piece of thin cable wire pierced the very middle. The width – 1.75″ – gives you plenty of assurance when you’re going around corners fast on a wet road, but in essence, you’re really riding along the smooth central section of the tread. On trails, the tyres run best at 45-50psi (they’re rated 35-65psi) – for me (11.5st), at least. However, if you hit a bit of mud, are on loose stuff or need traction on the granny going up a really steep hill, they don’t really cut it. I’m not disappointed (for use on the road), but I can’t help feeling that I could get something as equally sweet-rolling for tarmac at a lot less than the 665g each of these tyres weighs-in at. For night riding, by the way, the reflective sidewall ‘band’ is a neat touch. Pros: quite roll well on tarmac (50psi up) easy to fit pretty puncture resistant excellent price/value Cons: quite heavy not that good for serious off-road work I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
