The rim is showing signs of wear,but this is due to the the wet dirty roads of the winter and the hilly terrain. Pros: build quality is superb. Cons: mavic rims wear out quickly. Fantastic quality and price. by Wil57, 20 March 2016, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful I purchased a set of wheels for my Salsa Casseroll touring bike after the rear wheel developed multiple fatigue cracks. Since they had done around 20,000 km, I was not too surprised by this. The new set of wheels using Shimano hubs and Mavic rims arrived in Australia in less than 3 weeks which I thought was great. I had the new wheels on my bike the next day and it ran like new. What really impressed was I received a report detailing the manufacture of the new wheels which included spoke tensions and spoke lengths used in case I wanted to carry spares in the future. The report was signed by the guy who made up the wheels. Pros: a high standard of quality at a good price. Cons: this service could be listed more clearly on site.
