Here are just a couple of interesting reviews that we picked out from verified customers:

Gorgeous Looking but ridiculously priced. by SASCHOFIELD, 22 August 2016 This bashgaurd is a sexy bit of kit that for the most part does it’s role well. It is however clearly designed for someone who rides with one dominant foot and if you happen to be using the other foot during a collision the bashguard is nowhere to be seen – upside down – With your chainring taking the full brunt of a strike. Which is a massive oversight when you need that chainring to keep riding. It is also extortionately priced as an individual item and I would personally consider investing my money elsewhere if I were replacing a broken guard from my Shimano Chain Guide kit. Speaking of which, this bashguard is supplied as part of the above mentioned Chain guide kit and in that case is good value for money. In summary then: It is a high quality bashguard but with so many shortcomings and weaknesses I would never recommend this item to a friend. Pros: great look light weight Cons: does not protect your entire chainring expensive! no really really expensive. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Using with SMCD50 chain guide by kjmccarx, 6 April 2016 I bought this to use with an SMCD50 chain guide that came with 1 of these bash guards, but for complete protection you really need 2. These look pretty slick, and are clearly made for the M820 crankset. My main problem is that it is super expensive. I mean, $40 for half a bash guard? That’s ridiculous. My second problem is that these run small. I’m rocking a 32T chainring, and the 34T bash guards don’t really protect it as well as I’d like. I still hit it on the inside while biking in rock gardens (which is where I mostly ride). All in all, it does an OK job, and looks pretty sexy. That being said, when you price out the whole SMCD50 guide and bash guard set it’s not worth it. Pros: looks nice Cons: runs small expensive I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
