Like so many people before me, after my first ride on the new set-up I had to ask myself “Why didn’t I go 1×10 sooner?” The simplicity, chain security, lack of drag or chain-slap and ease of cleaning/maintenance is a no-brainer. My bike looks and performs better than ever. Crisp, precise shifting, minimal friction, a quiet drivetrain and no dropped chains. What’s not to like? Fast sharp shifts and the option for finger or thumb shif is top draw. You even get a length of SP41 outer and caps! Something SRAM don’t do. Shame about the lack of gold barrel adjuster though.
