More secure than the multi-release version by LeighofSteel, 9 May 2017, 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful The 51s have never unexpectedly releasing my feet. Yet I can’t think of a single example of them holding on during a crash / desperate dab when I wanted them to release. Still, I thought I’d give the multi-release versions a go. But I’ve come back to this single-release version. I’ve been unexpectedly ejected by the multi-release versions a number of times in particularly hairy situations (usually involving not-quite-in-full-control take-offs), something that never happened in my many years of using the 51s. Perhaps if your’e just starting to use SPDs, or you do a lot of really technical riding, the multi-release cleats might be better for you. But in any other situation I’d stick with the single-release 51s. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

They are Shimano….they are good….they work by alexJ, 13 February 2016, 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Not much to say about them. The Shimano cleats just work, they are cheap and if the are worn out easily fixed. I always buy two sets to have one spare, just in case. Shimano SH51 Cleats – other options

With 888 Shimano products, 44 Shimano Pedals and 315 Pedals available from Chain Reaction Cycles you’re really not going to struggle for choice. Quite the opposite in fact, there’s just too much choice to make a simple decision. If you do want to read a few more reviews first though you can check more of our Pedals reviews out. Our top bit of advice is to set yourself a list of “must haves” whether that’s colour, features, price or size, make sure you stick with your list as that will save you a lot of time when hunting around online.

Video reviews are also great for finding out whether a bike product is going to suit your needs. We’ve picked out a couple of YouTube videos for your to check out. You can also find more pictures too using Google.
