Very happy with +4mm Ultegra pedals by MattCylist987, 2 October 2017, 6 out of 9 people found this review helpful I’m very happy with the +4mm Ultegra pedals. I previously had a Shimano A600 SPD pedals but I wished the pedal axle was a little wider and clipping in wasn’t easy die to the small clip platform. The SPD-SL platform is much bigger making clipping in a breeze. The tension setting from the factory was set to low, but I adjusted it even further to the lowest possible setting until you could no longer turn the adjustment screw. I read many reviews about the difficulty uncliping from the prior 6800 Ultegra pedal model, but I found unclipping from these 8000 Ultegra pedals pretty easy. I think the key is to unclip while the pedal steoke is at the bottom, and press down on the pedal while twisting out. I found it almost impossible to unclip when the pedal stroke was at the top. I highly recommend this pedal for all road bikes. The SPD-SL platform provides a much better pedaling efficiency compared to the SPD pedals. It also helps prevent hot spots on your foot due to the much bigger clip platform. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
