Excellent product, misleading item description by ZombieQtip, 16 July 2017, 4 out of 6 people found this review helpful This is not a true “single” speed crankset. Description of this item should be updated as it can be misleading. It is in fact a double crankset without chainrings. Shimano does not make a “single”, they just use the double crankset with a single specific chainring when running 1x. You can use this as a 1x, it works fine with an XT specific narrow-wide chainring. Or a double chainring set (which it was made for), if you have a set of chainrings and derailleur to fit. Good quality, solid, and light. Paint does wear off quickly, but still excellent product from Shimano. It comes with nice new (longer sized) chainring bolts.
