Great upgrade by Bize, 21 November 2015, 13 out of 15 people found this review helpful In the box: – Complete BB – 3x 2.5mm spacers – TL-FC25 adapter to allow the use of existing Hollowtech II BB tools My bike came fitted with a square tapered BB, so when that became flogged out, I decided to upgrade to outboard to allow me to have more choice in what cranksets I could use. Firstly this is just so much lighter than the square taper set up. It’s just the bearings, alloy cups and some plastic in between. No more solid axle as the cranks have their own hollow one. It’s smooth, quiet and just easy to install. It’ll be interesting to see how resistant it is to the ingress of water and sand etc, but it can’t be any worser than the square taper was (the BB shell would be full of sand and muck and that’s why the original BB only lasted about 2,500km) I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Great, But Annoying New Spanner Size! by JamMad, 13 August 2017, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful Seems like the usual top quality from Shimano, but how insanely annoying is this: they’ve changed the size of the spanner required to fit it! I was in a French MTB resort in a friend’s workshop; he’d never seen anything like it. We went opposite to another shop, they didn’t have one either and had never heard of it…. (it’s smaller than usual) So I had to buy another BB that they luckily had in stock, and this is now a spare until I can buy the stupid new sized spanner. Dumb. Otherwise I’m sure this is gonna be like all Shimano BBs; amazing value and solid. Pros: great value Cons: dumb new smaller bb spanner size I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
